Summer Music Camps at Meredith College
Community School of Music Summer camps will soon be enrolling students for Summer 2026. If you do not see dates and information for a camp you are interested in, please check back before May to see what will be offered. Our instructors are finalizing their plans now.

Piano Camps, Theory, and Composition
Four piano camps will be offered during the summer of 2026.
Theory/Composition Camps
Composer Awakening – Broadening Your Musical Horizons
Camp for Ambitious Young Composers Currently in the Process of Composing.
This camp is designed for serious composition students, the approach with musical analysis that will be taken should interest and be valuable for any serious music student. No actual composing is required.
Camp Dates: Week 1 – July 13-17, 2026
Week 2 – July 20–24, 2026
Camp Times: 9:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. daily
Cost: Charge for week 1 or week 2 – $150.00
Charge for week 1 and week 2 – $300.00

Piano Camps

Intensive Piano Camp
Camp Dates: June 22-26, 2026
Camp Times: 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Grand Finale Recital, Saturday, June 27, 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $400.00 Includes lunch.
High School Theory Camp
Camp Dates: July 6-10, 2026
Camp Times: 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
Cost: $150.00 per week.
Limit 15 students (one group). Grades 10,11,12. Younger students are admitted in special instances.
Location for all piano camps: Wainwright Music Building, Meredith College.

Meredith Summer Strings Pops in the Park
This camp is sponsored by Meredith College in collaboration with Wake County Public Schools. With a goal of providing student musicians with an opportunity to develop their musicianship skills when school is not in session. The camp will culminate in a performance of pops music in the picturesque McIver Amphitheater. The staff will be Wake County strings educators and Meredith College music faculty.
The camp is open to area strings students who have a minimum of one year of performing experience. The music to be performed will include pops and film score music geared toward students who have played for around 1-2 years.
Camp Dates: July 20-24, 2026, 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The camp will end with a concert in the early evening on Friday, July 24.
Camp Location: Jones-Wainwright Music Building, Meredith College.
Cost: $220.00 (Payments must be received by July 13, 2026). The cost of the camp includes 4 lunches and a t-shirt.

Meredith College Percussion Camp
Percussion Camp is open to fifth through ninth graders who are interested in enhancing their skills in a group setting.
Camp Dates and Time: June 16-20, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Location: 119 Wainwright Music Building, Meredith College.
Cost: $235.00

Bull City Strings Camp
This camp, sponsored by Meredith College in collaboration with Durham Public Schools, is designed to provide student musicians with a chance to continue to develop their musicianship skills when school is not in session.
Camp Dates: HAS BEEN CANCELLED for 2024-2025
Location: Charles E. Jordan High School
Cost: $175.00 (Payments due by June prior to the beginning of th ecamp).
Checks payable to Meredith College. Financial assistance is available by request.
PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY June.
