NEW STUDENT CHECKLIST

We can’t wait to welcome you to Meredith College!

We are excited you have chosen to attend Meredith College! There are a number of tasks for you to do over the summer to begin your Meredith journey. Pay attention to these dates as well as specific deadlines so that you can be fully prepared to arrive on campus in August.

Don’t forget to check your Meredith email account regularly. All college communications will be sent to that address, including important information sent this summer leading up to your arrival in August.

Must do:

After paying your enrollment deposit, one of the most important next steps is to request your NET ID and set up your NET ID and password via the Applicant Portal. After completing the form, you should receive an email from Meredith’s Technology Services Team noting your NETID and sharing further instructions. If you have any questions or difficulties setting up your password, please contact Technology Services at techsupport@meredith.edu or by phone at (919) 760-2323.

All college communications will be sent to your Meredith email after StartStrong (in June), so don’t delay in getting your email set up, and please CHECK IT REGULARLY so you are on top of everything you need to know and do before August.

If receiving financial aid, return a signed scholarship acceptance form and financial aid offer via your Admissions Portal. For questions, contact Financial Assistance at (919)760-8565 or finaid@meredith.edu.

Submit all required student health and immunization forms via the Student Wellness Portal.

Forms are due by 7/1/24. Late forms may delay your course schedule from being released.

At the start of each academic year, students must show proof of insurance coverage (starting before August 1st and running through the entire academic year) by either submitting a waiver or enrolling in Meredith’s student health insurance via the BCBS Insurance Portal

Action is due for all students before Wednesday, 9/11/24 at 5:00pm.

New Student Waiver Instructions and New Student Enrollment Instructions

For more information including what policies are acceptable to waive with, please visit the insurance section of the Student Health Center site.

High school graduates need to submit their official high school transcript to Meredith by a school official. We cannot accept transcripts from students.

Early College high school graduates or Dual Enrollment students also need to request official transcripts from the partnering institution via the National Student Clearinghouse.

Transfer students need to submit official transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended via the National Student Clearinghouse

Students with AP scores need to submit official results via College Board.

Questions regarding any required placement testing should be directed to the Student Success Center at success@meredith.edu

For students needing to take the placement exams, log into Brightspace with your Meredith login credentials. You will be able to access the language placement test under the courses section in Brightspace.

Please complete your testing as soon as possible. We recommend that placement tests be completed by Monday, June 3. Completing the placement test by that date will ensure your results are available for enrollment counseling meetings occurring at StartStrong.

For fullest consideration, Housing Request Forms are due by 6/30/24.

Roommate and/or suitemate requests and form updates can be made by editing your housing form through June 30. After July 1, 2024, requests must be submitted directly to reslife@meredith.edu

Only mutual requests will be honored.

Housing assignments will be communicated with students via Meredith email by mid-July.

If you are needing accommodations, make your request using the Meredith College Student Wellness portal

Instructions and detailed information can be found on the Disability Services website.

If you are an international student, review the ‘New Students’ section of Meredith’s International Student Guidebook for information on the visa application process, travel to the U.S. and more. And mark your calendar for International Student Pre-Orientation August 14 – 16, 2024.

Questions? Reach out to the Office of International Programs at internationalprograms@meredith.edu

Choose from four available dates in June. During StartStrong, you will meet with an enrollment counselor, connect with many of Meredith’s student services, and get to know other incoming students in your class.

All new first-year students are required to attend StartStrong.

Transfer and Wings Students are invited to contact the Student Success Center with any pre-orientation needs.

If living on campus, you will be given a unique move-in time assignment in early July at the same time you receive your housing assignment. Check back here in July for more information.

Most students will be issued a CamCard during StartStrong.

Students not participating in an organized pre-orientation program will get their CamCards during New Student Orientation, if not before. For any questions, contact Campus Police.

Should do:

Commemorate your first days on campus with the official New Student Orientation T-Shirt, featuring an iconic Meredith Balloon Arch!

Throughout the year, paired classes participate in events such as ice cream socials, pizza parties, and class serenades.

Order textbooks from the online bookstore.

Your SA or WTA will be in contact with you in early August to introduce themselves, answer any questions, and may even set up a Zoom call for your entire SA/WTA group to meet each other before your arrival.

First-year students will get an email, phone call and/or text from their Success Coach in early August to introduce themselves and answer any questions. Make sure you are checking your Meredith email!

Elections Information Week starts August 28 and the required first step for anyone interested in campaigning is to attend an information session. Be on the lookout for details from the Elections Board Chair on when the sessions will be held, or visit the Student Leadership and Service MyMeredith page.
