Mathematics majors are encouraged to explore logic and technology. Our program provides students with a foundation that enables them to reason mathematically and work collaboratively to solve problems. Students hone their skills and knowledge through a curriculum that incorporates calculus, statistics, theoretical mathematics, and applied mathematics. Mathematics majors can also choose to participate in the Dual Degree Engineering Program.
Meredith offers both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, as well as minors in Mathematics, Mathematics and Computer Applications, Statistics, and Web Development. We also offer the mathematics and methods courses for middle grades and secondary teacher licensure in mathematics in North Carolina. The Engineering Dual Degree program is a five-year program that allows students to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Meredith and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil, computer, electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering from North Carolina State University.
For as long as she can remember, Aly Henneberry, ’23, has loved three things: math, science, and tennis.
As a dual degree engineering student and an award-winning student-athlete, Carlee Joseph, ’19, has learned to balance her time while still finding ways to get involved on campus and in her community.
Eran Artigues, ’18, has taken on the challenges of pursuing two STEM degrees while competing on the softball diamond and developing her skills through experiential learning opportunities.
Students in the mathematics program participate in a range of internships, providing them with important real-world learning opportunities. Learn more »
