Seely Stephenson

After earning a bachelor’s degree in international and global studies from a small liberal arts university, Seely Stephenson, ’16, worked for two years for a residential interior design firm in Washington, D.C.

Then she decided to pursue an interior design degree and discovered that Meredith was a natural fit.

“When I was doing my research on schools, I learned that Meredith had a CIDA-accredited interior design program, which was important to me.”

She also appreciated the College’s small class sizes, location, networking opportunities, and faculty mentorship.

“I developed very strong relationships with the interior design professors. They guided me and pushed me outside of my comfort zone to hone my technical skills and produce work that I am very proud of.”

As a Meredith student, Seely secured an internship with MA Allen Interiors, an award-winning residential and commercial interior design firm. After graduation, she started work there as a full-time interior designer.

Seely made the Dean’s List during all four semesters at Meredith. She also participated in the student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers and was a member of Kappa Omicron Nu honor society.

Her Meredith experience prepared her well for this new phase of her career.

“The relationships I developed with my professors and fellow classmates were by far the best part of my experience. I really benefited from collaborating with people who had different backgrounds, skills, and ideas than me.”
