Studying abroad is a unique opportunity that can enhance your college experience. You’ll learn about a new culture and become a more confident traveler. From faculty-led to affiliate and semester-long to short-term programs, Meredith offers a variety of study abroad options. Read this blog to learn what types of programs are available.
Meredith has its own home in Sansepolcro, Italy. You’ll live and study in our study abroad site, the 16th-century Palazzo Alberti, with fellow Meredith students and the faculty in residence.
The semester-long program is available every fall semester and is open to all majors. The courses offered fulfill general education credits, including the foreign language requirement, and are taught by Meredith faculty and local Italian experts. This program is ideal for students in their sophomore year.
If you are looking for a shorter time abroad, Meredith offers faculty-led study abroad programs during spring and summer breaks. Spring break programs are usually 10 days long while summer programs range from two to four weeks. Students complete one or two three-hour courses during these programs.

If the faculty-led programs aren’t quite the right fit, you can apply to affiliate semester or summer study abroad programs through the Office of International Programs. You’ll work with the office to find a program that meets your needs and Meredith’s academic, safety, and cultural immersion standards.

Meredith students who are approved for a semester abroad can apply 100% of their financial aid package toward study abroad costs. Scholarships are available through the Office of International Programs for Meredith faculty-led programs. Students can also apply for outside scholarships to help fund their study abroad.
The Office of International Programs also offers funding workshops to discuss program costs and financial assistance available.
