Strengthening a Talent for Communication – Freya Dahlgren
Freya Dahlgren, ’24, built skills in public speaking and reporting as a student journalist, serving as the anchor of Meredith College Student News broadcasts and on the staff of The Meredith Herald. Freya turned a successful internship at Wolfspeed into a full-time position as she begins her career in corporate communications.
Through StrongPoints®, leadership opportunities, and internships, Mary Maul, ’24, gained valuable skills while at Meredith and will apply those skills in a full-time position at SAS.
Through two internships, sociology and criminology major Nia Simpson, ’24, discovered a passion for working with juveniles and improving the justice system. Next up: Earning a Master of Social Work from NC Central University.
Tiffany Millner, ʼ24, majored in psychology later in life to become a licensed counselor and help women overcome obstacles they face. The community at Meredith has helped nurture her and she looks forward to helping others as a licensed professional counselor.

The North Carolina Board of Nursing has approved the establishment of Meredith College’s nursing program. The approval was announced at the Board’s meeting on January 16.
The Frankie G. Weems Gallery presents Raleigh-based artist Julie Anne Greenberg in her exhibition, Charting the Uncertain.
The North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) held their annual development conference at Meredith College on Tuesday, January 7. A total of 115 fundraisers from 27 institutions attended to listen to a variety of interactive sessions and network with colleagues.
New students arriving at Meredith in January will participate in spring New Student Orientation, which will take place on January 6-7, 2025.

The Meredith College Documentary Film Festival will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Kresge Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
The College is grateful to alumnae, friends, faculty, and staff for their continued support of Meredith College in the first half of the fiscal year. Gifts and various efforts by volunteers show their support for Meredith students and the entire campus community.
