The anti-racism initiative reflects our commitment to strength, integrity, and the power of education to bring about real and lasting change across Meredith’s campus.
Through an internship and honors thesis, nutrition major Anna-Moriah Fung, ’24, has expanded her knowledge and passion for the field. Her next step: pursuing a Master of Public Health from UNC at Chapel Hill.
Isabel Cortes, ’24, was immediately drawn to Meredith’s I-O psychology program. Now as a graduate, she is well-equipped to pursue her dreams.
Tamara Bomparte, ’24, always knew her love of reading would lead to a career in publishing. At Meredith, she discovered her leadership potential through experiential experiences, preparing her for her dream career.

Ten students in Meredith’s Engineering Dual Degree program participated in NC State’s Freshman Engineering Design Day (FEDD) event. FEDD is an end-of-semester opportunity for first-year engineering student teams to showcase their design projects and compete for awards.
Meredith College alumna Natalya Brown, ’21, is a Fulbright Award recipient for 2024-25. She will teach English in Madrid, Spain. Brown was supported by Meredith College and mentored by faculty member Dr. Vilma Concha-Chiaraviglio through the application process.
Meredith College student Ashley Andrade recently was awarded a study abroad grant worth $1,000 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi — the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Andrade is one of 125 students nationwide to receive the award.

The rollout of the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has had numerous problems. As a result, some Meredith students, both current and incoming, still need to complete their FAFSA. Doing so is important because completing the FAFSA every year a student is in school is the only way to access all of the financial aid they are eligible to receive.
Four students in the incoming Class of 2028 have been selected to receive Meredith College’s top scholarship. These students are recipients of the Meredith Full-Ride Merit Scholarship, in recognition of their academic achievement, leadership, service, and character.
Meredith College held commencement for the Class of 2024 on Saturday, May 11. Two ceremonies were held in the courtyard behind Johnson Hall to celebrate more than 490 undergraduate and graduate members of the class.
