Meredith Strong Futures

Through the Meredith Strong Futures program, Meredith College provides specialized advising, direct and guaranteed admission, and $10,000 in aid to graduates of Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) who meet the requirements.

Eligibility Requirements

CPCC students must meet the following requirements to be considered for the Meredith Strong Futures program

  • Complete the inquiry form.
  • Complete an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree at CPCC in the semester immediately preceding their desired entry term at Meredith College.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.50. Students who receive any “D” or “F” grades in a course prior to applying to Meredith College will not be considered for direct admission.
  • Remain in good standing (academic or otherwise) with CPCC.

Each student who meets the eligibility requirements and submits their application to Meredith College will receive at least $10,000 in aid to attend. Students must be enrolled full-time at Meredith to receive the aid.

Transfer Requirements

To successfully transfer to Meredith College, students must

  • Meet all of Meredith’s admission requirements, including completion of the admission application, submission of official transcripts from all institutions attended, a written personal statement, and payment of the application fee.
  • Meet the residency and graduation requirements of CPCC according to their catalog.

Additional Requirements

While the Meredith Strong Futures program is designed to help students complete their bachelor’s degree in four years, some of our programs may take longer.

Due to the competitive nature of this program, students must meet additional requirements to be admitted to this program. The program will likely take a student more than three years to complete after starting Meredith.

Students must complete additional requirements and an application to pursue the licensure program. It will likely take more than two years to complete a licensure program.

Students interested in pursuing one of our three music degrees must complete an audition for admission into their preferred major.

Transferring Credits

To ensure students continue to meet the program requirements, Meredith College will periodically provide credit evaluations for each student during their time at CPCC. These evaluations will also ensure students receive the maximum amount of credit hours when they transfer.

The final evaluation will be completed before each student’s initial advising appointment with Meredith College before enrolling. Students will work with an advisor to create a plan to achieve their academic goals.
