Parents and Families Connection

August 2022

At Meredith, students can explore their passion areas, gain a deeper understanding of self, and build a community of friends through Meredith’s vibrant campus life. Parents and families can encourage their students to participate in campus programming and co-curricular experiences to make the most of their time at Meredith.

Meredith College values the health and welfare of its students. To serve the health needs of our student community, Meredith requires health insurance as a condition of enrollment for all full-time undergraduate (12 credit hours or more), licensure only, pre-health post-baccalaureate, I/O psychology, international, Sansepolcro students, and dietetic interns to assure that students have access to health care services beyond what is available on campus. All required students must take action in the Meredith BCBS insurance portal by Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

The Office of Career Planning (OCP) is busy preparing for the upcoming academic year, and we look forward to welcoming your students back to campus! As a team, we are eager to continue integrating relevant career development topics in our campus programming and counseling with students. Help your student connect with OCP this fall.

Students can study abroad at Meredith in the summer, fall, or spring, but planning a study abroad experience often begins in the year leading up to a program. With the Fall 2022 semester in sight, students interested in studying abroad—and their parents and families—can be on the lookout for events and opportunities to engage with the Office of International Programs (OIP) and learn more.

StrongPoints® is Meredith College’s unique advising and personal coaching model based upon educational research on how students can get the most out of their college experience. Each student takes the CliftonStrengths assessment to learn their top 5 strengths. Students who apply and talk about their strengths are found to be more successful, energized, motivated, and engaged.

The Parents and Families Council is a group of dedicated parents/families of current and former Meredith students. Learn more about the many ways that Parents & Families Council members show their commitment and belief in the value of a Meredith education.
