An Impactful First Impression – Rachel Didier

Meredith College was the right fit Rachel Didier, ’15, from the beginning.

One of the fashion merchandising major’s favorite memories is her initial visit to campus as a prospective student.

“The feeling was one I hadn’t experienced from the other colleges I visited,” Rachel said. “A sense of community, unity, and love surrounded the campus – I felt like I was home.”

That positive impression has been a lasting one.

“After four years at Meredith, I still experience that feeling every day when I walk around campus.”

Rachel balanced her academic program with her responsibilities as a player of the Avenging Angelssoccer team.

While being a student-athlete was time-consuming, she took advantage of the opportunities Meredith’s fashion program provided. She was a member of the Meredith Fashion Association and completed an internship as part of Meredith’s fashion study abroad program in Paris. The Paris internship “was a life-changing experience” for Rachel.

She also built strong relationships with Meredith faculty. “Not only are they my teachers, but they are people who care about my success, my education, and my growth as an individual,” Rachel said.

After graduation, she will begin an internship at Nordstrom, in Schaumburg, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.

Armed with her Meredith education, she’s ready to take on this next challenge.

“Attending Meredith College has given me the opportunity to find out who I am and given clarity to what I want to achieve in my life,” Rachel said.
