The spring semester brings several important Undergraduate Research Program deadlines. Faculty and staff are encouraged to make interested students aware of these opportunities.
Celebrating Student Achievement (CSA) Day, when Meredith celebrates a year of student academic and research accomplishments, will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Last year, more than 125 students presented.
The CSA abstract submission deadline is Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 5 p.m. An abstract workshop will be held on Friday, January 23 at 10 a.m. in Harris 214.
Research and Travel grant application deadline is January 23 at 5 p.m. These grants support supplies related to student research projects and travel to present at local, regional, and national conferences. Learn more about these grant programs
Environmental Sustainability Initiative Proposal Deadline
Meredith partners with North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) in a five-week long Environmental Sustainability Initiative (ESI) summer research mentoring program. The program pairs a faculty mentor and undergraduate students from Meredith with NCSSM students at Meredith. Last year, five faculty projects were funded for seven Meredith students and nine students from NCSSM.
The 2015 program will run from June 22-July 31. The Undergraduate Research Program is soliciting faculty participation from all disciplines and encourage interested faculty to propose research projects that demonstrate relevance to environmental sustainability. Faculty stipends range from $2100-$2700, and equipment funds are available.
The deadline for ESI proposal submissions is January 28 by 5 p.m. More information and necessary forms can be supplied by Walda Powell, Matt Stutz, or Paul Winterhoff. Join us in this exciting and rewarding program!
