The Parent’s Fund Gift Provides Additional Security to Campus

Thanks to generous parents and friends, Meredith’s front entrance is now home to a gate house that is heated and air conditioned, has the technology needed to properly protect our campus, has automated gate arms, and has a camera to monitor all vehicles that enter campus.
Not only is this a significant improvement to campus security, but it also provides a welcoming entrance for the campus community and visitors including prospective students and other guests.
This project was made possible through the 2017-18 Parents Fund. Each year, the Parents Council selects a project to enhance the Meredith campus and community.
In addition to the front entrance renovation, past projects have included launching and growing the Meredith Mentors alumnae-student networking platform, increasing lighting in parking lots, and helping to renovate Lower Belk Dining Hall and the Lowery Fitness Center.
