Meredith Library Continues to Support Students, Faculty and Staff with Services

Even though this semester is very different for everyone, some things remain the same, like the library offering support to the campus during this most unusual time.  The library building is open during our regular week and weekend hours, although our spaces look a little different. We have arranged furniture to allow for social distancing and we have sanitizing stations set up around the library. Our study rooms can also be “checked out” now with a CamCard to allow for social distancing and sanitizing after each use. You can, of course, still check out our books, DVDs, games, and sports equipment with your CamCard too.

If you are learning or teaching remotely this semester, we are offering services to support you as well. We have a chat service staffed by our reference librarians from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. On the weekends chat is available on Saturdays from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m.- 9 p.m. Reference librarians are also available for research appointments. We will also send chapters and articles that are in our print collections electronically if you request them. We are also mailing books, DVDs, and CDs if you live more than 50 miles away. If you live closer, we will arrange a pick up time for you to come to the library to receive your materials. For more information about these and other services, please check out our Services for Distance Learning page.

In addition, the library offers numerous resources available online. You can browse our eBooks by searching from our Books & More tab on our homepage and limiting your results to eBooks. We have numerous research guides that link out to recommended eBooks on certain subjects, as well article databases covering an area of study. Also, don’t forget about our educational video collection through Films on Demand! To learn more about all of our streaming resources, visit our streaming resources page.

If you have more questions about our services, please visit our FAQ page. We look forward to supporting you in whatever way we can this fall!
