Support Basketball during the Winter Break; Youth Soccer and Lacrosse Camps Offered

As the semester winds down, keep the Avenging Angels in mind when making plans for the winter break. The Meredith basketball team will host three homes games in Weatherspoon Gymnasium in between semesters.

Sunday, Dec. 13, 2 p.m. – Greensboro Pride

Saturday, Jan. 2, 2 p.m. – Lynchburg Hornets

Tuesday, Jan. 5, 7:30 p.m. – Ferrum Panthers

Early in the season, several Angels have already posted career-high performances, including senior leader Kim Hinton. Hinton scored 19 points and tallied 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the year in the 80-67 win over Lehman College at the Mary Washington Tipoff Tournament. She earned All-Tournament honors for her two-day effort.

Sophomores Stephanie Girard and Ashley Hudson recorded career bests early this season, and Head Coach Melinda Campbell will look to their offensive contribution as the season continues. The balanced effort relieves pressure for last year’s leading scorer and playmaker Jessi Hayes.

If you have or know of other youth soccer or lacrosse players looking for a camp this winter, consider Meredith as your first stop. Assistant Coach Ashley Riggs will host a Holiday Soccer Camp December 21-23, and Head Coach Lauren Scott launched her second annual Lacrosse Tune-Up Camp slated for the afternoons of January 4-8.
