Staying Strong Updates July 29, 2020

Staying Strong Updates are reminders that will be helpful as the College prepares for the Fall 2020 semester. Items are either of interest to faculty/staff or on topics about which students may ask questions/staying-strong.

What is Contact Tracing?
One of the key steps in limiting the spread of Covid-19 is contact tracing. To help our community better understand this effort, Meredith’s contact tracing process is explained on the Staying Strong website.

Covid System Monitoring App
Daily self-monitoring for Covid-19 symptoms will be required for students and employees prior to coming to campus. Students living in residence halls and the Oaks are also asked to self-screen on a daily basis to protect those who live on campus. To facilitate the daily screening process, Meredith intends to use the Campus Clear app. The free app provides a short, intuitive survey that takes less than 10 seconds to complete on a daily basis. Users type in their email address to create an account and will log in daily to answer a question about their symptoms. The privacy of each user is protected and their information is only accessible to key health officials of the College who are leading contract tracing efforts. Campus Clear is available for free in the Apple Store and on Google Play. Look for more information on Campus Clear soon.

Cleaning Supplies Distribution for Workspaces
As announced in early July, Meredith is providing cleaning supplies that employees can use to clean their own office/work space between the routine cleanings that Meredith’s housekeeping staff provides. Meredith will provide these supplies through the Meredith Post Office and you may request supplies by using the request form found on My Meredith.

Additional COVID-19 Prevention Signage Available
The Department of Marketing has worked with campus partners to develop additional COVID-19 prevention signage.

The following signs have been added:

  • Signs 2 and 3: 12″x12″ Smaller floor signs
  • Sign 29: Out of Service signs for Water Fountains
  • Signs 26-28: MS Word templates to create your own signs.

Employees can access these downloadable signs on the Marketing Department page on MyMeredith. Yard signs, adhesive floor signs, and large format signs can be ordered through the Copy Center. Other signage can be downloaded to print on office printers and/or ordered through the Copy Center.

Course Modalities for Fall
Meredith will be offering face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses this fall. A detailed message explaining the different modalities offered was sent by Meredith’s registrar to students on July 24.
