Staying Strong Updates January 2021

Staying Strong Updates are reminders that will be helpful during the Spring 2021 semester. Items are either of interest to faculty/staff or on topics about which students may ask questions. 

Entrance Testing Reminder
As announced in December, Meredith College added entrance testing to its COVID-19 prevention strategies for the Spring 2021 semester, like many other area colleges and universities. All employees and students are required to provide notice of negative COVID PCR test results before they are approved to return to campus in 2021. Details about the entrance testing requirement, including the kind of test required and how to submit test results, are available on the Staying Strong site.

Protocol for Campus Visitors
Visitors to campus are expected to comply with Meredith's COVID-19 protocols. It is recommended that visitors download the free Campus Clear app and self-screen prior to coming to campus. Visitors who have not used CampusClear to self-screen will need to participate in a screening at the gatehouse before they will be permitted to enter campus. Use of CampusClear or screening is required for each person in the car. Visitors must display the CampusClear “good to go” screen to enter campus and wearing a face covering is required both at the gate and while on campus.

Volunteer to Help with Meal Delivery
The Office of Residence Life coordinates meal delivery for students who are in quarantine and isolation because of COVID-19. The task is minimal but the impact is significant. Anyone who is interested in helping with meal delivery can email Heidi LeCount, Director of Residence Life, at reslife@meredith.edu. Community Standards Reminder
Thank you to all faculty and staff who continue to follow Meredith’s Community Standards, including the 3 Ws – wearing a face covering, waiting six feet apart, and washing hands frequently. These safety guidelines are critical to keeping our campus and community safe during this challenging time.
