Sloan Family Student Leadership and Service Trip

Over spring break, 31 Meredith students traveled to Charleston, S.C., to enhance their leadership skills and understanding of community issues. Students were able to network with local community leaders and learn about remedies for food insecurity by engaging in community service with the Lowcountry Food Bank and the Magnolia Community Garden.

During the trip, students explored Historic Charleston including a guided walking tour and visits to Fort Sumter and the South Carolina Aquarium. This trip, coordinated through the Office of Student Leadership and Service, was made possible by an endowment from Carol Sloan, ’75, and her husband O. Temple Sloan, Honorary Co-Chair of the Meredith College Beyond Strong Campaign Planning Committee.
