Second Annual Hunger Week To Be Held

The Second Annual Angels Are Aware Hunger Week will take place on Meredith’s campus from March 27-31, 2023. The week is designed to help students, faculty, and staff learn more about efforts to tackle basic needs insecurity on Meredith’s campus and in the local community.

2023 Hunger Week events include a Basic Needs Fair, Farmers Market, Plate Event and Bake Sale, Empty Bowls Banquet, and “Pie a Faculty Member.”

This year’s Hunger Week banquet is an Empty Bowls event and as such will feature pottery from various local artists. Dr. Marianne LeGreco, author of Everybody Eats, Communication and the Paths to Food Justice, will be the keynote speaker for the event. Each attendee will leave with their own ceramic bowl to symbolize the “Empty Bowls” in our community. Tickets are required and limited seats are available. Student tickets are free and faculty/staff/community tickets are $10 (collected at the door). Reserve your ticket
