Political commentator Cokie Roberts will visit Meredith College on Friday, May 8, 2015, to promote her newest book, Capital Dames: The Civil War and the Women of Washington. In the new book, Roberts explores the experiences, influence, and contributions of women during the Civil War.
The event is co-sponsored by Quail Ridge Books and Music, and Meredith’s Friends of the Library.
Roberts has more than 40 years of experience as a political reporter and commentator for ABC News and NPR. She has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame, and was cited by the American Women in Radio and Television as one of the 50 greatest women in the history of broadcasting.
