New Staff for Institutional Advancement Brings Valuable Experience 

Meredith’s Division of Institutional Advancement has recently welcomed four new staff members.

Tonita H. Few joined the Institutional Advancement team on September 7 as the Strategic Giving Officer for Reunions. Her primary focus will be working with alumnae on their 25th, 45th and 50th reunion year events and campus fundraising projects. Few has 19 years of non-profit fundraising and management experience with local organizations that include William Peace University and the North Carolina Theatre. She earned her undergraduate degree in business administration from Strayer University and her Master of Arts in English and creative writing from Southern New Hampshire University. She has a passion for poetry and self-published her second book of poetry, Black Butterfly, in April 2023.

Carissa Anderson recently joined the Meredith Fund team as the Leadership Giving Officer. She manages phonathon callers and the senior class giving project. Working in higher education has always been a goal of Anderson’s. A graduate of SUNY Plattsburg with a major in elementary education and a minor in music, she taught music for K-5th grade public school in Buffalo, N.Y. She completed her M.Ed. and became a reading teacher for a public Montessori school. In 2010, Anderson moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., where she taught in the New York City public school system for 10 years. 

Eric Douglass is the new Director of Strategic Fundraising for Athletics. He will also remain Meredith’s head tennis coach. Douglass has over 30 years of experience in securing funding for high-profile sports and entertainment events, non-profits, colleges, and universities. His clients have included such notable events as The Grammy Awards, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Masters, the 1996 Summer Olympics, multiple Super Bowls, the US Open Tennis Championships, and others. He has also worked at Duke University and Tulane Law School. After college, Douglass played tennis professionally in Europe and was a hitting partner for a number of ATP and WTA pros at the French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. He taught tennis in Los Angeles before starting a successful career in the sports and entertainment industries. He is a graduate of Principia College and has three grown children of whom he is immensely proud. 

Alison Bunce, ʼ22, joined Institutional Advancement on September 3 as the Constituent Records and Gifts Processor for Advancement Services. She is responsible for processing donor gifts and updating constituent records. Bunce received a degree in mass communication and a minor in French from Meredith College. She was raised in Apex and graduated from Meredith in 2022. She loves cheering on the NC State Wolfpack and Carolina Hurricanes.
