New Avenging Angels Tennis Coach Announced

Eric Douglass has been named the new head coach for the Meredith Avenging Angels tennis program. Eric Douglass holding a tennis racket.

Douglass joins the Meredith athletic department most recently from coaching the top junior players at Cary Tennis Academy. He played his collegiate tennis at Principia College (NCAA Division III) where he was the team captain in his junior and senior years and played No. 3 singles along with No. 1 doubles. Douglass was an All-Conference Player while his team was ranked No. 9 and No. 4 nationally in his junior and senior years. 

Upon graduation, he moved to Europe where he played club tennis professionally while teaching at clubs in London and Paris. While living in Europe he was a hitting partner for a number of ATP and WTA pros at the French Open, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open. Upon returning to the United States, he embarked upon a successful career as a fundraising and sponsorship consultant for clients in the sports, entertainment, and music industries.

The Avenging Angels finished 7-9 and 5-4 in the USA South last spring and look for a fresh start under the new direction of Eric Douglass.
