Meredith to Host NC I/O Psychology Conference

Meredith’s Industrial/Organizational psychology program will host the North Carolina I/O Psychology (NCIOP) conference on September 20, 2019, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

I/O students and professionals from across the state will be on Meredith’s campus for NCIOP’s semi-annual meeting. There are two sessions along with lunch and networking opportunities.

Breakfast and sign-in will begin at 9 a.m. followed by session one with charismatic presentation guru Wendy Gates Corbett at 10:15 a.m. Lunch will be from 12 to 1 p.m. followed by session two led by work-stress expert Chris Cunningham, Ph.D.

Session 1
7+ Simple Secrets for Making Yourself (and Your Message) Memorable.
  Learn how to deliver more impactful messaging in your talks and presentations. Wendy Gates Corbett will guide participants on seven verbal, body, and slide language secrets to amplify their ability to influence.

Session 2
A person and environment perspective on work-related stress and recovery management. 
Regardless of industry, workers experience stress in the course of their daily work. Chris Cunningham, Ph.D. will present the case for a broader perspective on the stress-recovery process, outlining the concept of recovery management and focusing in on person and environment factors that specifically impact workers’ abilities to engage in proper self-care and essentially show up for work in the right state of mind and body to be safe, engaged, and productive.

Costs: $40 for professionals, $15 for students RSVP required
