Meredith Special Events Class Executes Spring Open House at The Bradford

Molly Fields, sales director at The Bradford, led Meredith College students Lauryn Beeson, Kayla DePietro, Rebekah Lakey, Jordan Liggins, and Bailey Lucas in planning a Spring Open House for potentialA white fireplace outside with decorations. and current clients.

The Bradford is a wedding venue located on 12 acres in the quaint town of New Hill, N.C., established in 2014 by Meredith alumnae Courtney Hopper and Dana Kadwell. The sister duo currently teaches Intro to Event Planning at Meredith.

“The students were fabulous,” said Molly Fields. “They led the planning process by creating a schedule of events, recruiting vendors, creating a floor plan, and designing a vision board for the event. They worked closely with the vendors to execute their design to perfection and highlight the unique features The Bradford has to offer. We really hope to engage their services again in the future.”A group photo of hospitality students and administration.

The Open House, themed Spring in Tuscany, attracted 60+ prospective clients, a big success by any standard. Students and members of the planning team were able to collaborate, connect, and network with industry professionals from ThemeWorks, CE Rentals, Catering by Design, MEWS Florals, and Magdalena Stefanek Photography.
