Meredith Nutrition Students to Help Stop Hunger Now

The Nutrition Graduate Student Association (NGSA) of Meredith College is partnering once again with Stop Hunger Now for an on campus meal packaging event. The 2016 event will be held on Monday, Oct. 24, downstairs in Belk Dining Hall.

Based in Raleigh, Stop Hunger Now has a mission to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and aid to the undernourished globally. Help us reach our goal to raise $4,948.56, recruit 80 volunteers, and pack 17,064+ meals in two hours.

Volunteers set up and take down packaging stations and equipment, fill bins with raw ingredients, scoop ingredients into meal bags, weigh and seal the bags, box and stack them on pallets, and load the pallets and equipment onto a truck.

Registration is mandatory for all participants.

Please share this link with anyone who is able to donate and help us reach our goals:

Important details: As a person registers, they can also register an additional adult family member. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children at this event. Those registered online will receive information about where the meals from this event are shipped. Volunteers do NOT need to commit to the entire two hours and are welcome to help as their schedule allows.

Donors can make a secure contribution online through the “Make a Donation” button.  For the donor, the contribution is instantaneous and they will receive an immediate email that can serve as a receipt for tax purposes. Traditional forms of payment are also accepted.

The registration page has a very clear “OPT-OUT” for any further communications and Stop Hunger Now has a comprehensive privacy policy.

Please contact NGSA Leaders if you are interested if you have any questions or if you are interested in assisting with sign-in, set-up, or tear-down.
