Meredith Ensemble Theatre to Present A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Meredith Ensemble Theatre will present William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, September 29-October 4, 2015, in Studio Theatre. Show times are September 29-October 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.

The course of true love has never been a smooth one! And a night in the forest can fulfill dreams or change destinies — especially a forest inhabited by plotting fairies, ill-rehearsed actors, and misguided lovers! In just one Midsummer night four magical stories are woven together to our delight: the impending marriage of an Athenian Duke and his Amazon war bride, four confounded lovers lost in a forest, an enchanted battle between fairy royalty, and a group of amateur actors attempting to stage a play.

Join us for plenty of laughter, mayhem, and peek-a boo bangs in Shakespeare’s unrivaled treatise on love, sex, and the nature of man in one of the Bard’s most beloved comedies, set in the glamorous and trendy postwar 1940s.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and students. Meredith faculty, staff and students are admitted free of charge. Reservations are recommended at boxoffice@meredith.edu or (919) 760-2840.
