Meredith College to Celebrate International Education Week 2021

Meredith College’s Office of International Programs (OIP)  joins campuses nationwide to celebrate International Education Week (IEW) from November 15-19, 2021, to recognize the benefits that global education and intercultural exchange bring to our communities.

“As we think about IEW here at Meredith, we are cognizant of the both/and. We know that these continue to be truly difficult times globally AND we know that there is much to celebrate – the return of study abroad at Meredith, the resumption of consular services and easing of travel restrictions, reducing barriers for international students, the presence and engagement of such a vibrant global community on campus,” said Jennifer Glass, assistant director of international programs.

The week began with a takeover of the @MCGoGlobal Instagram by one of the Meredith students studying in Sansepolcro, Italy this semester. Also on Monday, an information session was held for the Costa Rica summer program.

On Tuesday, OIP sponsored the launch of the Going Strong & Going Global in the Kitchen cookbook. The book is a collection of recipes that were shared and curated by Meredith’s students from international backgrounds. It also includes a special Tiramisu recipe from Sansepolcro, Italy. Print copies of the cookbook were available for pickup at Belk Dining Hall from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and Meredith Dining prepared a few recipes from the cookbook during lunch and dinner.

The following events remain in International Education Week.
