Meredith College Staff Participate in NC Independent Colleges & Universities Conference

On January 11-12, 2022, the North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities held their annual Development and Marketing Conference via Zoom. Several Meredith staff members presented during the conference.

Lennie Barton, vice president of institutional advancement, was part of the development planning committee for the conference and presented “How to be an Above Average Major Gift Officer.” Barton also facilitated an open forum discussion for vice presidents and senior leaders about issues and best practices.

Kristi Eaves-McLennan, vice president for marketing and communications, was one of three panelists for “A Seat at the Table,” a discussion about the importance of the chief communications officer being part of a college’s senior leadership.

Erin Cleghorn, director of the Meredith Fund, and Hilary Allen, director of alumnae relations, presented together. Their presentation, “It Takes Two to Create a Successful Giving Day,” highlighted how the two offices work together to create success each year for the Make It Count for Meredith giving day.

Astra Ball, director of advancement services, and Danielle Taylor, associate director of development systems, presented with Jennifer Vincenter and Liz Harner, both account executives with Blackbaud. In “Targeting Your Best Prospects,” they discussed how there is always potential in a database and ways Target Analytics software is continuing to help Meredith College create a plan of action to quickly find our best prospects.

Many members of the Marketing and Institutional Advancement teams also attended the two-day virtual conference.
