Meredith College Participates in National Preparedness Month

September is National Preparedness Month in the United States. Sponsored by ready.gov, National Preparedness Month is a campaign to educate and empower people to prepare for, respond to, and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters. 

Meredith College’s Student Health Center is providing several opportunities for the Meredith community to get information that will help increase preparedness in emergencies. 

The 2023 National Preparedness Month schedule of events is below. 

Fire Safety Training and Fire Extinguisher Demonstration with Raleigh Fire Department on Monday, September 18 at 10 a.m. in Kresge Auditorium with the demonstration outside Cate/Park.

CPR Basics/Refresher (Not for Credentialing) on Wednesday, September 20 at 10 a.m. in Weatherspoon 001. Presented by Assistant Professor of Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences Sharon Malley.

Active Shooter Information presented by Campus Police on Friday, September 22 at 10 a.m. in Kresge Auditorium

Financial Preparedness with StrongPoints, on Monday, September 25 at 10 a.m. in Kresge Auditorium.

Fall Vaccine Clinic on Wednesday, September 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in lower Belk Dining Hall. (Participation by appointment only)

A raffle will be held for participants in each session, excluding the vaccine clinic.
