Holiday Tea Connected Donors to the Music Department

On December 3, Institutional Advancement held their annual Holiday Tea and Concert for lifetime and annual giving societies for Meredith College. More than 120 people attended the Zoom festivities that highlighted the Music program with a concert.

“People continue to support Meredith College and it will bring tears to your eyes the ways that we see donors continuing to support our mission,” said Astra Ball, director of advancement services.

Jeanie Wozencraft-Ornellas, head of the music department, was pleased that the department was able to present the special music selections to donors via Zoom.

“The last semester was so challenging but thanks to the efforts of faculty and students who have been dedicated to their health and the health of others we have been able to continue making music live and together at Meredith College.”

Students performed a variety of selections including piano and string performances and many vocal performances.

“Music is the soundtrack of our life. Thank you to our wonderful faculty and staff for bringing our donors this program tonight,” said President Allen to those in attendance. “And thank you for your gifts to the College for scholarships, facilities, or being a part of Meredith Mentors. We appreciate it”

At the end of the program, Ball emphasized that she hoped this would be their first and last virtual holiday tea and concert but also acknowledged that there were benefits of having the program this way. “We were able to have friends all over the country join us and we are thankful for that.”
