Graduate Programs presented Go Strong In Graduate School Open House

On Saturday, February 20, the Meredith College Graduate Programs sponsored a Go Strong in Graduate Open House in Ledford Hall from 10 a.m. to noon. Approximately 50 prospective graduate students took part in the workshop, which offered practical information towards reaching the goal of earning a graduate degree or professional certificate.

The event began with a welcome from the Graduate Program Director Monica McKinney and included presentations from Meredith staff on “Demystifying the Application Process by Tracy Smith, Graduate Program Manager for Nutrition, and Veronica Johnson, Graduate Program Manager for Education; “Test Prep” by Katie Peterssen, Assistant Director of Career Development; and “Financing your Graduate Education” by Kevin Michaelsen, Director of Financial Assistance.

The workshop included break-out sessions for the specific grad programs and post-bacc certificates. Options offered were: MBA led by Allison Anthony; Education led by Veronica Johnson, Pre-health led by Andrea Marritt-Pabalate; Paralegal led by Anna Lockett and Nutrition led by Tracy Smith. Current students were also on-hand to discuss their experiences with Meredith programs.

The Graduate Programs team was very pleased with the outcome of the event and especially the responses from the participants.  Responses included:

“Thank you so much for this! I absolutely fell in love with the program! I love the small classes and how close the relationship is between teachers and students!

“Again, thank you so much for showing so much passion about the graduate school! That made a HUGE difference!

“The workshop on Saturday was incredibly helpful in navigating the application process. I truly appreciate the effort you all put into the workshop to make the process crystal clear! These next few months do not seem as daunting ... and for that, I am grateful.”
