We welcomed the third largest freshman class in Meredith history on August 15! Classes have begun and the Admission staff is getting ready to hit the road to recruit the Class of 2020. Our recruiters will be traveling within North Carolina and out-of-state to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland this fall. Admission recruiters will invite alumnae to attend college fairs or meet with the admission recruiter and prospective students for coffee in these areas. Our goal is to not only increase out-of-state applications but also increase alumnae involvement at college fairs, so we need your help! Our admission staff will be traveling to the following cities this fall, so please e-mail me if you are interested in attending a fair with one of our recruiters.
Please note: Alumnae who attend a college fair will be asked to review the training that I will send electronically.
Discover Meredith will take place on Saturday, October 17. Discover Meredith is a special day set aside for alumnae and future Meredith Angels. Whether it’s your daughter granddaughter, or neighbor, we hope you will consider sharing Meredith with a future Angel! Please register online for the event here:
Fall Recruitment Focus Week
The Fall Recruitment Focus Week will take place October 19-23. Alumnae will have the opportunity to e-mail prospective high school seniors and encourage them to submit an application for admission by November 1. Alumnae can also encourage students to submit their Early Decision application by October 30 if students are committing to attend Meredith next fall. Our second Think Meredith Open House will be held on Monday, October 26, so students can learn how Meredith can make them even stronger. Please e-mail me if you are interested in participating in the Fall Recruitment Focus Week in October!
Refer a Student
Please continue to refer students who would be a great fit for Meredith. The link to the online referral form is available at Refer a Student. The Office of Admission will document this submission as an alumna referral, the student will be added to our database, and she will receive information about Meredith. When the student applies, the Office of Admission will waive her application fee.
I look forward to working with all of you again; here’s to another STRONG year!
