Faculty/Staff Italian Getaway Opportunity Returns in 2022-23

The Office of International Programs (OIP) invites applications from Meredith College employees to share our College’s Italian home, the Palazzo Alberti, and experience life in Tuscany for a week. 

In 2022-23, OIP is offering two travel opportunities. Participants can experience the magic of Tuscany during the December holiday season or at the beginning of summer. Tentative dates are December 14-21, 2022 (option 1) and May 29 – June 5, 2023 (option 2).

For a nominal fee of $600 per person (airfare not included), participants will live in shared, dormitory-style accommodations within the Palazzo Alberti. 

Meredith employees will have the freedom to utilize the Palazzo Alberti as a home base while exploring their interests in Sansepolcro and Tuscany. While this is not an organized program, a few group excursions to nearby sites of interest are available for an extra charge. OIP will host pre-departure info sessions for you to learn about the countless opportunities for excursions and activities throughout the region, particularly those that utilize public transportation. 

Emerita Professors Cathy Rodgers and Betty Webb, who both served as directors of the Meredith in Italy program, will be onsite throughout the week to orient participants to the delights of the town and surrounding areas. 

All Meredith employees are eligible to apply for this opportunity. Online applications will be launched at the start of the 2022-23 academic year through an announcement that will be sent via an emp_all email. A $100 deposit is also required to complete each application. This program fills quickly and COVID-19 protocols could limit capacity.
