Faculty/Staff Accomplishments 3/6/24

In this issue, we celebrate the accomplishments of faculty and staff in music and residence life.

Music Faculty Perform with Andrea BocelliPerforming with Bocelli at PNC Arena
Renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli appeared in concert at the PNC Arena on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2024.  He was joined by his daughter Virginia, Zucchero, and several other musical guests in performances of many of his beloved hits from opera and popular music.

Backing him up was a full orchestra and a 60-voice choir of local musicians. Meredith music faculty members Instructor of Music Rachel Stenbuck and Professor of Music Kent Lyman (pictured) were excited to join Bocelli on stage as members of the choir. Meredith Instructor of Flute Carla Copeland-Burns played in the orchestra.  It was a thrill for these Meredith faculty members to perform in front of a packed PNC Arena with one of the world’s most beloved musical artists.

Kelsey McKelvey smiling.Oaks Apartment Manager Kelsey McKelvey is the recipient of a Southeastern Association of Housing Officers (SEAHO) Service Award. She received this award at the organization’s annual conference, held February 27 – March 1. “Kelsey has provided so much assistance and support to the residence life team, students, and Dean of Students office during the last year while there were staffing transitions in the Office of Residence Life,” said Dean of Students Ann Gleason. She also transitioned in the last year from an RD position to Oaks Manager and she provided critical support in creating RA and RD fall training sessions, an operations manual, and so many other detailed projects and tasks.”
