Connection Corner: Some Good News

Inspired by the web series, Some Good News, for this issue we invited the campus community to tell us some good news or things that prompt smiles. Here’s what was shared.

Professor of Economics Anne York: “My son, Logan, is graduating high school at Iron Academy with their highest academic honors!”

Director of International Programs Brooke Shurer shares the happy news that she is expecting baby number two, due on Labor Day (how appropriate!).

Professor of Theatre Catherine Rodgers: “My good news is that after spending 70 days alone in lockdown in Manhattan, my son has joined us here in Raleigh!  We couldn’t be happier to have him home until his theatre company, St. Ann’s Warehouse, returns to work.”

Congratulations to the faculty and staff who shared their good news! Have your own good news to share? Email Melyssa Allen, newsletter editor, at allenme@meredith.edu for inclusion in a future issue.

Fun Things to Do

NC Museum of Art “Museum from Home”
The North Carolina Museum of Art has been posting online a series of pieces from its collection. These items are meant to  foster contemplation, meditation, and creativity.  View this regularly updated content on the museum site.

Looking for more creative inspiration? Meredith’s Library continues to add content to the Fun Things to Do to help you scratch that artistic itch. New coloring books have been added here. Adobe Coloring Books include themes for everyone from animals to outer space! Adobe is updating the page weekly so there is always something new to help you find the artist within and relieve stress!

For the next issue, by request, we’re focusing on Meredith pets. Send us a photo and a brief description about your pets, especially if they are part of your work from home routine! Email to allenme@meredith.edu.
