Celebrating 100 Years of Alice in Wonderland at Meredith

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Meredith College’s Alice in Wonderland tradition, Meredith will hold a  Woman of Achievement event on January 25, 2024, at 7 p.m. in Jones Auditorium.

Dr. Jean Jackson, ’75, vice president of college programs, will present “A Century of Wonder,”  a behind-the-scenes look at the facts and fictions behind this beloved tradition found only at Meredith College.

In her announcement of the celebration, President Jo Allen wrote that “the event acknowledges Alice for her literary stature and community role in bringing us together in laughter, curiosity, creativity, talent, merriment, and, of course, nonsense—all for the amusement of our students.”

The Woman of Achievement event is free and open to the public, with a reception to follow in Johnson Hall Rotunda.

The 2024 Alice in Wonderland performances will be held on Friday, February 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 10, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in Jones Auditorium. The dress rehearsal on Thursday, February 8, and the matinee are open to the Meredith community, while the Friday and Saturday evening performances are open only to students.
