Book Launch Planned for Assistant Professor’s Debut Poetry Collection

A book launch will be held for Assistant Professor of English Jayme Ringleb’s debut collection of poems, So Tall It Ends in Heaven, at Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh on Tuesday, September 20 at 7 p.m.

The collection is being published by Tin House Books. Poems from So Tall It Ends in Heaven have appeared recently in Poetry, Kenyon Review, Gulf Coast, and Ploughshares. A book cover that says "So Tall It Ends in Heaven" by Jayme Ringleb, and "poems".

From the book description:
“With lush and deeply intimate language, Jayme Ringleb’s debut collection So Tall It Ends in Heaven explores sexuality, estrangement, and the distances we travel for love. The poems search for answers across the United States and Europe, in and out of historical imagination, as the speaker struggles to separate their understanding of devotion and belonging from the constant losses in their life. Drawing from—and subverting—the formal traditions of love poems, parables, and elegies, the collection claims a vital space for one’s own solace.”

Ringleb will be reading poems from the book and then having a short conversation about the book with the poet Ina Cariño, a 2022 Whiting Award winner with an MFA in creative writing from North Carolina State University.

Ringleb holds a Ph.D. from Florida State University, an MFA from the University of Oregon, and an MBA from the University of Iowa.

The event is free to attend. Entry is free. Learn more in the event listing
