Athletics Update: Track & Field Celebration; Golf Classic; Summer Camps

The new Avenging Angels track & field squad posted strong results at their first two meets of the season versus NCAA Division II and III programs. This weekend the team will face off with teams, including Division I athletes at a two-day event at High Point University.

Join Mark your calendars. Join Athletic Director Jackie Myers for a campus-wide celebration March 31 at 3 p.m. at the track. She will introduce Head Coach Leslie Payne and Meredith’sfirst-ever track & field team. Board of Trustee member Ann Lowery, ’74, will be in attendance to receive our gratitude for her gift of the College’s eighth varsity sport.

The 18th Annual Meredith College Golf Classic is slated for Monday, April 11, at Brier Creek Country Club, and we hope you will join in this special event dedicated to the betterment of Avenging Angels athletics programs and student-athlete experience. We offer several ways for the Meredith communityto be involved in addition to competing in the 18-hole round of golf. We are collecting prizes and gifts for the golfer goodie bags and silent auction, and individuals and businesses may sponsor the golf tournament in a variety of ways. If you or someone you know may be interested in supporting the efforts, visit goavengingangels.com for more details.

The Meredith Summer Sports Camp lineup is now posted at goavengingangels.com/camps. Online registration is available for soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball youth camps throughout the summer.
