Athletics Alumnae Reunion March 7; Basketball Season Ends

Meredith College athletics and the Office of Alumnae Relations will host an Alumnae Reunion Saturday, March 7, and we need your help to spread the word. More than 800 former student-athletes were invited back to campus to celebrate the success of all Meredith Angels.

The group will enjoy brunch in Belk featuring remarks from Athletic Director Jackie Myers and tri-sport athlete Danielle Lee. All three spring sport teams will be in action beginning at Noon, so alumnae will be able to continue conversations with teammates while cheering on the Avenging Angels. Register here.

The Meredith basketball team earned the North division’s third seed in the USA South Conference Tournament last week but lost to the South’s second-seeded LaGrange 71-56 in round one. Sophomore Jessi Hayes earned an All-Conference first team selection, as well as the team’s All-Sportsmanship honor.

Last week’s winter weather forced cancellation of a series of athletic events. Thanks to extra effort clearing the courts, the tennis team hosted NCAA Division II Chowan Wednesday afternoon. No. 2 doubles pair Caroline Hunt and Cailin Goff collected the team’s first doubles win of the season. Additionally, rookie Ran Zhang and sophomore Goff earned wins at no. 1 and no. 4 singles, respectively.
