ARMS Reaching Out to Prospective Students

Alumnae have been joining forces with the Office of Admissions to connect with prospective and admitted students through ARMS, Alumnae Recruitment of Meredith Students. ARMS volunteers build relationships through strategic outreach to high school juniors and seniors via e-mail or annual events.

Each fall and winter, one week is dedicated to student outreach. During this week, alumnae correspond with prospective students who have yet to apply to Meredith. Alumnae get to share their stories of success and interesting things they’ve been doing since graduating, in order to inspire students to apply to Meredith.

Samantha Cibelli, ’10, has volunteered with ARMS for five years. “I know some students have lots of support in their search, while others don’t. So I try to let the students know how personal this search is,” Cibelli said. “I love the opportunity to share a slice of my time at Meredith and how that decision became a strong foundation for who I am today!”

ARMS volunteers can also take part in Discover Meredith, an annual event where alumnae can bring prospective students to campus for lunch and a “traditions tour” so students can experience the cultural aspect of attending Meredith.

Another way to support recruitment efforts is referring students to Meredith. Alumnae can complete the “Refer a Student” form if they would like to connect a prospective student with Meredith. This referral would merit an application fee waiver if the student applies!

The Office of Admissions values the potential impact of alumnae building and shaping the next strong class at Meredith.
