Alumnae Association Galentine’s Event Held February 13

Starting during the pandemic and quickly becoming an annual event, the Alumnae Association hosted their Valentine’s Day-themed Pop-Up event for all current Meredith Students on February 13, 2023. The event garnered an attendance of over 300 current students from campus.

During the Valentine’s Pop-Up event, students received goodie bags filled with candy, scrunchies, and a bracelet, while also enjoying hot chocolate and coffee beverages and creating their own Valentine’s Day cards. This station included the option for students to take a polaroid photo by the themed photo backdrop and create a memorable card of their own.

Eight alumnae volunteers from both the Alumnae Association Board of Directors and the Young Alumnae Board attended this event and loved seeing students enjoy themselves. These alumnae were even able to meet and connect with four prospective students while they were on their admissions tours of campus. Being able to share about their past Meredith experiences and learn more about these future angels was special for each volunteer.

The Alumnae Association and Office of Alumnae Relations host these student-focused events each semester with the goals of engaging, supporting, and fostering outreach to all current students.

Chair of the Student Relations Committee Jennifer Christenberry, ’92, leads these pop-up events with support from other Alumnae Association Board of Directors, including Board President Courtney Allen, ’10.  The events provide students with an opportunity to connect with active alumnae volunteers, who share ways in which they have remained involved with their Alma Mater.
