1891 Club Continues Growth

The 1891 Club, Meredith’s Student-Alumnae Association, membership continues to grow. Over 350 students attended the recent Tie-Dye and Tacos kickoff event. Events such as these allow students to learn more about the organization and how to get involved.
The event featured the opportunity to tie-dye an 1891 Club t-shirt, and eat tacos and snoballs from local food trucks at the Meredith Beach. Prior to the event there were 290 student members and after new members and renewals were calculated the number has now grown to 450 members.
“We were so excited to have such a large response to the event and to see students excited about 1891 Club. We are looking forward to our upcoming events and continuing to educate our students on the importance of giving back to Meredith,” says Savannah Phillips, ʼ16, assistant director of alumnae relations.
Founded in the spring of 2014, the club helps current students prepare for a lifelong relationship with the College. The club educates students about the significance of the Alumnae Association and their role as future alumnae. Membership includes special events with alumnae throughout the academic year and areas of focus include outreach and philanthropy.
