Issue 28: Fall 2023

The Office of Alumnae Relations once again mailed Back-to-School packets to alumnae who are teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, social workers, administrators, professors, and other education personnel. The project is a way to thank and acknowledge alumnae educators.

Meredith College hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on September 8, 2023, to celebrate the construction of a new softball, tennis, and golf complex that will allow athletes adequate space to train. Chris Speight Brown, ’76, along with her siblings, gave a $1 million lead gift that will name the Estes-Speight Family Athletic Complex in memory of her mother Mary Estes Speight, ʼ53, and her father Bobby Speight.

Alumnae are our best ambassadors in helping the College recruit future generations of Meredith students. Do you know some bright, strong women who would be great Meredith students? Bring them to campus for Discover Meredith, scheduled for Saturday, October 14.

The Office of Alumnae Relations hosts virtual and in-person events, both regional and on campus, throughout the academic year. View the online events calendar for more details.

Are you a Meredith alumna who owns a business? The Office of Alumnae Relations is seeking to provide the Meredith community with a list of STRONG alumnae business owners from all over the country in a wide variety of industries.

Each year,  the senior class raises money to support a particular Senior Class Gift project. This initiative is an opportunity for students to give back to the place that has given so much to them. Led by Senior Class Gift tri-chairs Consepcion Cruz-Valencia, ’23, Rebecca Lopez-Bello, ’23, and Kelsey McCray, ’23, the Class of 2023 voted to support Disability Services with new ADA entrance and exit signs in campus buildings.
