Lowery Fitness Center Benefits Entire Campus »

The new Lowery Fitness Center in the Weatherspoon Athletic Center, which opened in August, supports the entire Meredith campus. A $1 million gift from Ann Lowery, ʼ74, named the new fitness center after her parents, Herman and Ruth Lowery. At the center's official opening, Lowery said, “This is the kind of reveal I wanted with all of these students here. The best thing about this fitness center is we can all benefit from it and it will help our health and well-being.”

Fountain Plaza Dedication Held »

The Meredith College community gathered in front of Johnson Hall on October 2, 2017, to celebrate the dedication of the Elizabeth Triplett Beam Fountain Plaza. A $1 million gift from Elizabeth Triplett Beam, ʼ72, of Raleigh, N.C., names the fountain plaza that was renovated last year. The gift supports Beyond Strong │The Campaign for Meredith.

Is networking really that important? Networking is not only the most common way people find jobs, it is also the most effective job search tool. Experts estimate that up to 90% of jobs are filled by a referral and as many as 80% of jobs are never posted. It’s great to start with online networking tools like LinkedIn but those face-to-face connections are often the most powerful.

Fall is upon us and it’s been a busy fall travel season for our admission recruiters so far. Our recruiters have been traveling up and down the East Coast attending college fairs and meeting with high school counselors and students. Reading applications is also a high priority for our recruiters right now, and we’re excited to start congratulating students on their admission to Meredith soon!

Meredith College to Offer Graduate Program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology »

Beginning in Fall 2018, Meredith College will offer a new graduate program in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology, a powerful combination of psychological science and business application. Through the Master of Arts in psychology: I/O concentration, students will learn how to use scientific methods to understand employee behavior in workplace settings.

Professor of Psychology Cynthia Edwards presented “Mix Your Own Palette: The Power of Friendships to Color Your Future,” as Meredith College’s 2017-18 Faculty Distinguished Lecture, on October 10 in Jones Auditorium.

Avenging Angels End Fall Season Strong »

The Meredith College soccer team captured the program’s fourth consecutive USA South Regular Season crown as the East Division’s co-champion and earned the privilege of hosting a quarterfinal pairing versus N.C. Wesleyan. The Avenging Angels defeated NCW and traveled to Maryville, Tennessee the following weekend for semifinal action versus the host.
