Mindie Stanford, ’16, has made the most of her experience at Meredith College, where she participated in the Engineering Dual Degree Program, a collaboration between Meredith and North Carolina State University. As a Presidential Scholar and a member of the Honors Program, Mindie has completed three majors, multiple internships, and is a member of the College’s track and field team.
In May 2016, Mindie will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Meredith College and Bachelor of Science degrees in computer engineering and electrical engineering from N.C. State.
She gives credit to the Meredith community for helping her succeed.
“Meredith College has given me so much support during the time I have been here. Whether it has been faculty, fellow students, or my coaches, I have always had someone give me that extra push or help me out of my comfort zone.”
Another way that Mindie has made the most of her college experience has been through her internship at Cisco Systems, where she has been offered a job after graduation.
Even though her academic and athletic activities kept her busy, Mindie served as a resident assistant, a tutor in the Learning Center, and a member of the Honors Committee. She also found time to participate in Meredith traditions. Her favorite experience was her senior Cornhuskin’.
“At the end of the day, I think what makes me a strong Meredith College woman is that I have learned to trust in my own experience and have confidence in the face of adversity.”
