Professional Biography
After 10 years of public school teaching as a special educator, behavior consultant, and learning specialist, I completed a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I joined the faculty in the education department at Meredith College in 2002. I teach courses for pre-service and practicing teachers that address teaching and learning, teaching students who are gifted and talented, adolescent learners, and differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners. I present regularly at teaching and learning conferences for higher education faculty on effective teaching practices.
