Gaynor received his B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy from East Carolina University in 1981. He has been a practicing Occupational Therapist since 1981 and founded Occupational Therapy Plus, Inc. in 1988. The company provides occupational therapy service to 8 school systems and 4 Outpatient hospitals in Eastern NC. He is also a licensed real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty in Raleigh and Wake Forest.
Gaynor is a 15 year veteran of the US military, having served 3 years active duty and 12 years in the NC National Guard. He has previously served on the Washington (NC) Utilities Commission, Beaufort County Economic Development Council, and the Beaufort County Community College Board of Trustees.
