For most of her career, Brenda Parks Hughes has worked in communications…as a sports, features, and news reporter (ACC, WITN, NBC12), a news anchor (WITN, NBC12), a media liaison for the Richmond, VA. police department, a feature documentary producer (UNCTV), and now, as a producer of actTWO stories on YouTube. Her career began as an elementary school teacher in Florida and North Carolina.
A graduate of Meredith (BA-Sociology, ‘70) and East Carolina University (MS -Administrative Services) where she was later selected as one of “100 Incredible ECU Women,” she has served as a member of the North Carolina Film Council and the Cucalorus Film Festival. She and her husband currently live in Wilmington, NC.
