How Meredith Approaches
How Meredith Approaches Campus Safety
Meredith College takes seriously the need to provide a campus that is as safe as possible.
The Campus Police Department is staffed with trained first responders 24 hours a day, and officers have full law enforcement authority on College property. Campus Police maintains a close working relationship with the Raleigh Police Department both through informal meetings and formal agreements between the departments.
Officers regularly patrol the campus to ensure a high level of physical security. They also note any safety hazards such as defective lighting, inoperative doors or locks, broken sidewalks, steps or handrails, and any other hazardous conditions.

General Guidelines for Emergencies
In the event of an on-campus medical emergency, the campus community should contact Wake EMS by dialing 9-911 from a campus phone or 911 from any other phone and then contact Campus Police by dialing 8888 from a campus phone or (919) 760-8888 from any other phone.
In the event of any other on-campus emergency, the campus community should contact Campus Police by dialing 8888 from a campus phone or (919) 760-8888 from any other phone.
For non-emergencies after business hours, the Residence Director (RD) on Duty can be reached at (919) 612-6350.
Campus Safety and Security Resources
In the event of an emergency or other situation when rapid communication with the campus community is essential, Meredith College uses an emergency notification system known as MC Alert. Students and employees should register to receive MC Alert messages.
