Laura Anderson Jacobson, ’80 Book Signing and Reception

The Office of Alumnae Relations invites you to an Author Chat and Book Signing on October 12, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. in the Johnson Hall Rotunda.

Laura Anderson Jacobson, ’80, will discuss her first children’s book, The Boy with the Magic Thumb, which her son inspired.

Published by Creative Minds Publications, this tale follows the story of an anxious child who sucks on his thumb when he is afraid as a source of comfort. His grandmother tells him that one day as he grows and matures in life, he will learn that his thumb was never a “magic” source of comfort—the magic was inside him all along.

Books are available for pre-sale. A portion of the proceeds support Meredith College.
