Profile

Jennifer Wolfe came to the Triangle area in 2019 and serves the Department of Music as a collaborative pianist. A native of Canada, she holds Masters degrees in Choral Music (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and Piano Performance (Michigan State), and taught college music for 30 years at three other institutions.

She is also the accompanist for the Raleigh Youth Choir and Director of Music at West Raleigh Presbyterian Church.

She has published a children’s book, “The Mess;” a music appreciation instructors’ resource manual, and an arrangement of a Yiddish folksong, “Gey Ikh Mir Shpatsirn” (earthsongs). Other choral compositions and arrangements have been performed, including by two groups she helped to found, the West Michigan Children’s Choir and Persisterhood (a women’s protest choir).

An active performing pianist, Ms. Wolfe most enjoys collaborating with other musicians. Recent performances include Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time,” galas with the North Carolina Opera, and tours with the Hope College Chapel Choir.

In her spare time she bikes, gardens, paints, and goes birding with her husband and their golden retriever.
